This afternoon we went to Het Landtje in Eemnes.
This is a private garden that is only open
a few weekends a year. www.hetlandje.com
It was very warm when we arrived.
Soon there after we headed indoors!
We enjoyed a cup of coffee and cake inside
to celebrate our 11 years together date
while it thundered and poured!
As the rain subsided we borrowed umbrella's
to enjoy the freah air after such a downpour!
Wow!
I'll have to make one of these
for in the Mexican Garden!
A river runs through it!
Over at Buitenzorg the preparations
for tonight's soccer/football match are on!

A Sunday morning with fresh quick bread and coffee!
Then while my hands were clean
I tested out the new kitchen gadget!
Then got puttering about in the garden.
You will have to walk by the
Hemerocallis "Canadian Border Patrol"
when you visit!
" Daylilies are real must-haves for any border.
Tough as powder monkeys, each trumpet blares forth
for just one day, but what a magnificent day."
Gardeners World July 2010

Houttuynia Cordata "Chameleon"
Chameleon Plant, Moerasanemoon
Agastache "Blue Fortune"
Hyssop
Lysimachia Clethroides
Wederik (NL)
Gooseneck Loosestrife

There was a change in the weather last night! Rain, loud claps of thunder, bright flashes of lightening and very strong wind gusts came through town!
Being an early riser, I checked the garden right away!
It's 7 am and already 20C!
The humidity will make the high today of 29C seem even warmer!

Above 30C today!
We are off to Spitsbergen-Willemsen's Nursery!
It's "Open House" this weekend!
After such a cold Spring and now with
very warm days things are looking great!
There is a Hemerocallis for everyone taste!
Not only Hemerocallises but
perannuals as well!
And Hosta's!
I left with 2 bags full of plants!
I'm waiting for rain before I plant them!

Save the Sansevieria!
Did you know that the plant is named after the
18th century Prince, Raimondo di Sangro
from San Severo in Italy?
Remove the plant from the pot and divide it.
There were more roots that soil in this pot!
Originally the Sansevieria comes from West Africa.
With this warm weather we have been having
I let the divided pieces soak in water.
"This is a great house plant that can grow and
thrive is many conditions provided that it
doesn't get over watered. "
Then I further divided it into smaller healthier plants.
When buying: undamaged leaf edges, no brown, dead spots
The Sansevieria's water retaining fleshy leaves grow
from these thick root-stocks or rhizomes.
This helps the plant grow even in rooms with dry air.
Now there are 8 new plants!
Water once a week in the Summer,
once every 2 to 3 weeks in the Winter.
Plants life expectancy: very long!

So by 7 am I was at the first garden of the day!
31C, 12 noon and back home after two gardens.
The Acanthus plants that came from Limburg
earlier this year are doing very well!
A great summer for Lavender!
Hosta's are looking good in this weather!

Happy Canada Day !!
Canada was established as a self governing country
on July 1st, 1867. So Happy 143rd Canada!
Tim Horton's, founded in 1964,
is a prominent feature of Canadian life!
Beautiful British Columbia
A room with...
..a view!
Canadian Pancakes anyone?
Don't forget the blueberries!
They're about ready to be picked!

A very early start to the day at the allotment! The allotment club/association checks the site regularly to see how all the plots are doing. Last month I received a letter stating that my plot is not being well looked after. Don't worry, I'm not the only one! Peter says he had a pile of letters to deliver! So that was taken care of and then got busy with other things of course! Then yesterday the second arrived. The next "site check" is on Tuesday the 13th of July. There is still enough time !
I have to say though, that with all this warm weather things are looking good! Yes, the weeds are growing but so are the Pumkins! I haven't been there for a few weeks to hoe and water. The plot that I use hasn't been used in years, so for the first season I'm quite impressed!.
Another two segments have been weeded and the next project can begin!
I received a few stepping stones from a fellow gardener up the path!
Looking forward to the sweet corn!
Spotted in a different garden in Baarn!
