Then it was time to head home.
We visited a Rhododendron nursery in Westerstedefeld!
They cultivate about 250,000Rhodo's per year!
We could pick out one to take home!
After lunch in Leer we stopped in at Murhring nursery
in Westoverledingen-Vollenerfehn.
I left with a bag full of herbs!
One more garden to visit in Nieuw Shoonebeek, The Netherlands!
Dinner in Heerde, back to Veenendaal, then home.
What a fun filled three day trip! There are 248 more photo's!
One plant that keeps showing up is Hosta Sagae!
I think I have to get one of these for my garden!

There's a wee small bird resting on the lantern.
It's on her way to feed the young ones that are in the mail box.
Every year at Buitenzorg there is a nesting pair of Bluetits! I bought this chair at Queen's Day Market for 5 Euro's!
Was in such sad shape that I didn't take a"before" photo!
The cushions went in last weeks garbage pick up!
Perfect weather today to sand and paint!
Now all I need is a good seat and new cushions!
Behind the blue chair on the left is another inner tube project!
It's a container for the Sundaville climber
that will wind its way around the circle

Saturday is Market day in Sparkenburg!
Had a list and a basket to put it all in!
Always nice to stroll along the Harbour!
See the Blue Heron?
Sparkenburg is an old fishing village.
Across the water you see the Windmills on Flevoland Polder.
Then back to the Market to enjoy a "Patat Oorlog"
and stop by the plant seller!

Didn't leave empty handed!
The only thing missing from the list:
White Geraniums!
High of 10C and cloudy so got right to work!
Sundaville Red
a climber that flowers til December
or so they say!
A big Lavender plant is needed to finish the job!
Block of the Month 5 is in!
A great way to spend a cold evening in May!

All Gardeners live in beautiful places
because they make them so
What would we do without flowers?
No two gardens are the same
No two days are the same in one garden
Smell is the sence of the imagination
Winter: The time of the year when it's too cold
to do the jobs around the house that didn't
get done in the summer because it was too hot!

When was I last working in the garden?
Saturday? Now this!
No gardening today!
But I did read a funny story:
A fellow died one day and was waiting in a long line for judgement. As he stood there, he noticed that some souls were allowed to march right through the gates of heaven but others were led over to Satan who threw them into a firepit.
Every so often, instead of hurling a poor soul into the fire, Satan would toss the soul to one side in a pile. After watching this several times, the fellow's curiosity got the better of him, and he strolled over and tapped Satan on the shoulder.
"Excuse me, Prince of Darkness," he said. "I'm waiting in line for judgement, but I couldn't help wondering why are you tossing those people aside instead of flinging them into the fires of Hell with the others?" "Ah," Satan said with a grin. "They're from Vancouver, they're too wet to burn!"
