Shrove Tuesday is on the calendar for today. Also known as Pancake Tueday, Pancake Day or Mardi Gras. Shrove Tuesday always falls 47 days before Easter Sunday. So tonight we will be enjoying pancakes! This pancake mix contains wheat, rye, buckwheat, corn and barley. We buy this as well as bread mixes from the Windmill in Soest. Have to go again soon as this is our last mix!
Thanks for that educational lesson! I know they have some kind of "pancake day" here in Australia and I read it was today, but I had no idea why or what for. I didn't know it had anything to do with Easter until I read your blog post! Anyway, that packet of pancake mix still looks big & full enough to last you a long time, or is that because it's a close-up picture? Or do you guys eat that many pancakes that you run out very quickly?? :-)
