Once there was a hedge.
During the winter months it was slowly trimmed
weekly and worked away into the containers.
Then during the last few days the remaining hedge plants
were dug out to make room for fase one of the new fence!
Today we went to http://www.kastanjehout.nl/ to pick up
our order of English fencing and posts for the garden!Fase one today!
Fase two tomorrow!
Then there's three four and five!!

Summer time! Turned the clocks ahead one hour!
Then off to the allotment to place the stepping stones.
Used a bit of string to get the centre path straight.
The ground is still wet so dropped the stones one by one
as I walked back and forth over the growing new path!
Now there are 16 garden sqares.
The dogwood cuttings planted last fall are growing!
Will be nice to see them in bloom!
Now at home, I'm using pen and paper to
plan where to plant what next to what.

The rotatillers came to the allotments this morning!
The winter rye has been mixed in! My plot is ready to go!
Next step is to place the stepping stones!
Warmer weather!
Get those doors open!
A bit of moss in the garden is a good thing!
Lady's Mantle
But is't still too cold outside!
Spotted these in the loft, again!

The order that we placed Sunday via the web arrived!
Safety glasses and ear protectors! Woo Hoo!
Now I can get on with doing some serious sanding!
Between Weeding work that is!
Free compost in Baarn!
Picked up a few bags with the bike trailer!
Great for the new Butterfly and Bee Border!
The circle is PVC pipe wrapped in innertubes.
A frame for a red flowering climber this summer.
That's the plan anyway!
Hosta 'noses' are showing!
A glorious sunny breezy 18C today!
Haven't had the furnace on for a few days!

Let's see what else is growing!
A bit of a trim will cheer this guy up!
But not too much! There are a few flowers coming!
The strength of Spring bulbs gowing
through a Fox Glove leaf!
The Hemerocallis that came from Bunschoten!
Will be a colourful front garden!

Another lovely Spring day!
Started by aerating the lawn.
This machine rips out the moss and cuts the grass plant to pieces!
There will soon be more grass plants growing!
In a months time this should look greener!
The fence can also do with a new coat of paint!
First remove the blue lattice work then sand
sand and sand some more!
New plants in the "window boxes"
where the geraniums were last year!

The new work fleeces are in!
Gone are the days when a boot was a boot to last,
when you had to buy new rubber boots when you
out grew them or something happened to them.
These leaky things are out! Time to find a new pairAfter this winter there was a lot of green on the bricks.
Used the Power washer to clean the terrace. Thus the boots!
The winter of 2010 was cold. Coldest since 1996!
Average temp. 1.1C. Most snow since 1979!

According to the store these are coasters.
I think they would look much better as flowers
on Joanne's House Quilt(Block of the month).
First a few flower alterations have to be made!

Oh Happy Day!
It's above 10C for the first time this year!
Three months ago, 17 December, winter arrived!
Might be 16C tomorrow!
Where's the sunscreen? Sunglasses?
Here are the first three blocks of "Joanne's House" Block of the Month Project! Futher decorating, embellishing and adjustments will be made after the 9th block is completed! I have an assortment of pins, badges, jewellery and other bits and pieces that I will be adding!
Great weather to garden!
Great weather to work on outdoor projects!
These are bycicle inner tubes.
Cut them in half lengthwise so you get a long flat strip.
Then weave them or wrap them around oblects.
This will be a planter for a Hosta this summer!
