A few of these birds
together makes one of these flowers!
The rain makes the green greener
and the low areas even lower!
A place to chat when it comes to that!

Headed over to the allotment early this morning. Dry weather last week and no more ground frost! I can now walk on the ground! How has the winter rye grown. I thought it was rotatilled under! Looks a lot better than when I first put it in.
It is almost like walking through a field of Rye!
The gound is sure dry and hard. Clay it is!
I started at the bottom of the garden by weeding and getting a compost area ready and created a new work area. Corn seedlings and a few Raspberry shoots from a fellow gardener soon were planted!
The leftover fencing from our front garden has been recycled as a climber for beans! Spaghetti squash and Pumkin seeds are also in! 5 of the 16 mini plots are now filled. Headed home before the first raindrops fell. The weather is changing. Lots of rain on the way. It is so needed in all the gardens! A good begin to the growing season!

In Dutch they call this a " zakdoekjes boom".
In English, a Handkerchief Tree!
This is the reason why!
The tree is full with Kleenex every May!
This is Honeysuckle Goldflame.
It has replaced the Passion Flower
and will be growing over the pergola!

The week just flew by! Here it is Saturday 22 May! Time to Blog! I went on a 3 day Garden Tour in Northern Germany, 17th - 19th. Then when I returned it was time to garden! Great wheather here while I was away! Now that the photo's have been edited I can choose a few for today's blog entry!
We visited gardens in Laar, Aurich, Etzel, Sandkrug and
Edewecht-Friedrichsfehn. Stayed 2 nights in Streekermoor.
Ah, a great design idea!
There were a lot of ideas in 3 days!
Even with the cooler Spring weather there was a lot of colour...
.. .and new plant combinations to see!

Just for fun!
Maybe something for Buitenzorg?
Green is nice.
Camelia's are in bloom!
Another idea to use here!

After having lunch by Frau Janssen in Westerstede-Hollwege we spent the afternoon in Westerstede at Rhodo 2010. www.westerstede.de has a webcam.
The centre is transformed into one big Rhododendron show!
Parking lots and streets are transformed!
A Rhododendron "tree"
Great idea for small spaces!
There were a lot of Rhododendrons!
