Save the Sansevieria!
Did you know that the plant is named after the
18th century Prince, Raimondo di Sangro
from San Severo in Italy?
Remove the plant from the pot and divide it.
There were more roots that soil in this pot!
Originally the Sansevieria comes from West Africa.
With this warm weather we have been having
I let the divided pieces soak in water.
"This is a great house plant that can grow and
thrive is many conditions provided that it
doesn't get over watered. "
Then I further divided it into smaller healthier plants.
When buying: undamaged leaf edges, no brown, dead spots
The Sansevieria's water retaining fleshy leaves grow
from these thick root-stocks or rhizomes.
This helps the plant grow even in rooms with dry air.
Now there are 8 new plants!
Water once a week in the Summer,
once every 2 to 3 weeks in the Winter.
Plants life expectancy: very long!

  1. can you do that with a euro too? cut it in 8 and have 8 new euro's?? (no, not funny..)
That's the only thing I don't like about this plant. It lives for-ever! And I like a different plant now and then.. Do you have time for tea this week??
