Sedums are turning into their autumn hues.
Butterflies are attracted to them.

Today, after work, I headed down to the allotment to get a start on weeding, see what is under the plastic, meet the neighbours, try to learn about the previous use of my allotment and get an overview of what could be next year! In this photo you see the result of a couple of hours weeding and uncovering.
Have to bring a spade and a rake next time to finish weeding the waters edge. I found an empty paint can, old rotten bits of wood, bricks, two plastic garbage bags filled with?(didn't want to know), rusty iron pipes, plastic flower pots, broken glass and other bits of garbage. Word has it that someone out Russia was using the site for a few years 10 years ago then left, never returned. It's going to be a fun time being at the allotment!
